How does it work?  Ordinary tap water is heated to 100°, killing microbes such as bacteria, cysts and viruses.  Steam Rises, leaving dead microbes, dissolved solids, salts, heavy metals and other substances behind in the kettle.  Steam is then condensed and percolates through the organic carbon filter kept inside the carafe lid.
